September Devlog

It's the start of September, meaning it's time for the next monthly public devlog! For weekly dev logs and sneak peeks, become a Subscribestar subscriber!

Chapter Two is now close to being ready for its Early Access release. And I'm pretty confident about September 15th being the date for the next build, dubbed the "Seduction Build", unless I run into any unexpected issues. 

What's been finished in August:

• Dialogue and code for all five paths, each with 6 endings.
• Seven sprites for Alice, depicting Alice's transformation from the endings of Chapter One, and two sprites for Edith.
• Stills: 73 out of 91 stills are finished as of writing this blog post.

What's left to do for the Seduction Build:

• 18 stills.
• 5 animatics.
• Playtesting and bugfixing.

So yeah, I intend to do all of that in the upcoming week and a half, and hope to release the Seduction Build to Subscribestar supporters on the 15th. The next build after that should only take 3-4 weeks, since it will cover just the aftermath of the permanent endings from Chapter One. So no two-month wait for that one thankfully XD 

And once I get those out of the way... the Seduction Build has five, the First Epilogue Build has nine... that's fourteen out of 31, meaning I'll be almost halfway done with Chapter Two! 

So it'll be... mid-to-late October when I'm halfway through Chapter Two - that's nine-ish months total since the start of development, and on track to make the game's story complete by 2027. 

I still think December is too early for a public Chapter Two release, but we'll have to see about early February, maybe late January. 

That's all for now - I'm going back to finishing those stills so I can get on with the animatics next week. I did decide to cut some for time/complications, but I once I go back to finish all the art, I just might add them anyway.
